After a long day of battling my way to and from university against the elements (despite them being subdued today) there is only one thing that really gives me a muscle-relaxing-stomach-pleasing hug and that is chocolate. Even as I returned home for a free period to get lunch, the Food Network greeted me with a chocolate invested escapism. It was a sign that I must have it, anything chocolate, chocolate on chocolate. Many people in the world confess to being a chocoholic and I do believe chocolate is one of the world’s greatest addictions. Why shouldn’t you want to indulge in an endorphins fuelled snack? What’s more if you choose the right chocolate, typically dark, it’s good for you as it contains antioxidants that protect you from aging that is caused by free radicals which can lead to heart disease.
Fact aside, I’m not encouraging anyone to do my double decker orgy – this can range from going to an all-you-can-eat, grabbing all the chocolate based desserts before putting them in the chocolate fountain to going to a nice cafe and ordering a hot chocolate with a slice of chocolate cake. Despite the expected sugar rush and oh-so-happy feel of binge-chocolating, most of the time I’m comatose the next hour from engorging my way down Willy Wonka’s chocolate river and need to be resurrected with a salad as part of my ‘balanced diet’. Well no body is perfect, and this is a confession of a chocoholic.
Eat well and live strong chocolate lovers,
Alan.
Chocolate is the perfect ending to a stressful day! I have it frequently for just that reason
I completely agree, it’s the right antidote to anything frustrating and it just tastes so good too
Chocolate proves there is a God, doesn’t it?
